Sports Medicine & Pain Management
According to a national survey from Partners Against Pain at least one member of America’s 44 million households (43%) suffers from chronic pain due to a specific illness or medical condition.
Treating pain with medication can often result in addiction and other side effects and it is not a permanent solution to ending pain. Other medical solutions include surgery, however when performed, many patients and their doctors find that the pain frequently returns and that it has not helped alleviate their suffering.
Many patients suffering from chronic pain have been told that their pain is coming from a disc herniation or nerve injury. According to company study those people who already have chronic pain problems treating the nerves for pain relief, which will not produce permanent results. Sports RF system targets the muscles where the actual pain stems from. The treatment is a non-invasive capacitive radio frequency procedure using pinpointed heat placed in injured muscles.
The heat allows the muscles to heal thereby producing permanent pain relief.
The effects of endogenous thermal temperature increase are;
1) Reduction of pain by contra-irritant action or by release of endorphins.
2) Reduction of muscular spasms and contractures due to reduced activity of side effects.
3) Faster, more complete disassociation of oxygen from hemoglobin with greater availability, accompanied by a reduction of activation energy of major chemical metabolic reactions.
4) Vasodilatation with increase of local blood flow, contributing to supply of oxygen and nutritive substances and elimination of capabilities.
5) Acceleration of re-absorption of hemorrhagic collections.
Pain Management, Sports Injury
With deep tissue warming, many pain sufferers report long-lasting relief from chronic pain in joints and muscle associated with a variety of conditions including:
• Chronic Back and Hip Pain
• Back Pain associated with spasms
• Osteoarthritis
• Tendonitis or Bursitis of the joint
• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Fibromyalgia
• Sports-related injuries
• Epicondylitis
• Plantar Fascitis
It is widely recognized that periodic treatment with therapeutic deep tissue warming focused on target areas of discomfort is beneficial for pain relief. Deep tissue warming may also provide many therapeutic healing benefits associated with increasing circulation.
Utilizing the patented RevecoMED’s Radio Frequency Hyperthermia Device (Sports RF™) under the guidance of renowned pain management expert and Director of research at the Reveco Healthcare Institute, Inc in Fullerton, California and Medical Director of Trinity Med Clinic, Dr. Craig Wenborg provides lasting relief from the discomforts caused by illnesses such as these by gently warming the body from the inside out.
Proven over years of use by many Pain Management Clinics to have no side effects, non-invasive, drug-free treatment. Isn't it time for you to start enjoying freedom from pain just like so many others that are already benefiting from this revolutionary new treatment in Trinity Med Clinic?
What is RF Pain Management Treatment?
In simplest terms, Sports RF is the application of heat to a part of the human body to produce desirable physiological effects. It is widely accepted that heat produces the following desirable effects, among others:
• Decreases joint stiffness
• Produces pain relief
• Relieves muscle spasms
• Increases the extensibility of collagen tissues & range of motion
• Dilates deep blood vessels which may lead to increased blood flow and oxygenation delivery to deep tissues
• Decreases tissue viscosity
• Enhances the transfer of metabolites across cell membranes
• Log-Wave Radio Frequency Hyperthermia has even been used in many other applications.
What is Sports RF?
Sports RF is a non-invasive therapeutic system in associated with long wave radio-frequency. Many patients suffering from chronic pain have been told that their pain is coming from a disc herniation or nerve injury. According to manufacturer of Sports RF study those people who already have chronic pain problems treating the nerves for pain relief, which will not produce permanent results. Sports RF system targets the muscles where the actual pain stems from. The treatment is a non-invasive directive radio frequency procedure using pinpointed heat placed in injured muscles.
The heat allows the muscles to heal thereby producing permanent pain relief. It is much more comfortable, no downtime and is safer.
What are the conventional means for delivering therapeutic warming?
Several modalities have been used in the past to deliver therapeutic warming, including the following:
• "Brute-force" warming is any means of warming deep body-tissue from the outside in by applying heat to the surrounding skin. It is the most common mode of therapeutic warming. Typical "brute-force" warming methods are hot-water bottles, hot-wax baths, electric heating-coils, whirlpool baths, hot-air convection, and incandescent lamps.
• Ultrasound diathermy is the application of inaudible, high-frequency acoustic vibration to tissues in which both thermal and non-thermal effects are generated.
• Microwave (MW) diathermy is the application of microwave energy to tissues to generate a thermal effect. MW diathermy generates a strong electrical field with comparatively low magnetic-field energy. Heating is induced by intra-molecular vibration of highly-polar molecules within the treated tissue.
• Sports RF is the application of long-wave, high-frequency electromagnetic fields to induce both thermal and non-thermal effects in tissues and cells. Thermal effects of Sports RF are caused by the high frequency molecular vibrations that are induced in treated tissues.
These actions have been shown to have positive clinical effects on enhancing blood flow, altering membrane diffusion activity, enhancing the enzymatic activity and metabolic rate in treated areas, changing the physiochemical properties of various connective tissues (such as ligaments, tendons and fibrous tissue such as scars) and facilitating a healing response.
Thermal changes have also been shown to alter the activity of pain-transmitting nerves thereby decreasing both acute and chronic pain-sensation. Non-thermal effects of the applied RF magnetic field occur at the cellular and molecular levels.
These primarily involve changes in cell membranes that alter ionic currents, change cellular fluid and enzymatic activity and may ultimately enhance cell recovery and reduce chemical inflammatory processes. While RF diathermy is the therapeutic modality upon which the Sports RF Hyperthermia System is based, the Sports RF system is fundamentally different from traditional RF Diathermy.
The differences are explained and discussed below.
1. Hot packs increase the temperature of the skin only.
2. Infrared energy produces superficial heating only.
3. Shortwave diathermy (27.13 MHz) does not overheat the skin and increases the temperature at a maximum depth of 1.6 cm
below the skin surface.
4. Microwave diathermy (2450 MHz) reached therapeutic values at 1.85 cm with skin temperature above 45°C.
5. Microwave diathermy (915 MHz with surface cooling, a prototype of modern hyperthermia machines) reached therapeutic values from 1 to 4 cm below the skin surface, keeping the skin temperature under 36°C.
6. Ultrasound was unsuitable for hyperthermia, especially in those sites where bone is present, because it generates hot spots and pain and does not increase the blood flow.
What are the advantages of the Sports RF Hyperthermia System over other therapeutic warming modalities?
• Sports RF is comfortable and easy to use. The Sports RF hyperthermia system consists of specially-designed treatment electrodes that are made to be comfortable and convenient to use. The whole Sports RF system is designed to be so easy to administer that most practitioners will be eager to do it because it so effect even after one treatment. .
• Sports RF is fast. With the system, core warming of deep tissues begins instantaneously. There is no waiting for brute-force heat to penetrate the skin and surrounding tissue on its way to the therapeutic target. As a result, therapeutic warming can be achieved in a fraction of the time required by brute-force warming.
• Sports RF treat a difficult larger area to treat. The Sports RF Hyperthermia System has many shapes of treatment tips to cover all kinds of sports injury and pain management applications than can be treated by either ultrasound diathermy or other forms of electromagnetic diathermy.
• Sports RF is safe. The Sports RF Hyperthermia System uses long-wave radio frequency with special designed temperature control programmed safety and comfort features that distributes warmth gently and evenly over a large treatment area, effectively eliminating the danger of "hot spots".

SUMMARY
As I began the process of generating outcome analysis on pain management through radio frequency, I have followed two principles. I do not want patient’s outcomes to be influenced by their finances. These cases are generated at no expense to the patient. Additionally, I do not overlap modalities. Each of these cases represents outcomes based upon the effect of radio frequency exclusively.
My first case outcomes were documented through Single Visual Analogue pain scale assessment. In July of 2008, I started using the Quadruple Visual Analogue Pain Scale system. I found that patient’s express their pain experience in different ways. The Quadruple VAS provides useful information relative to each patient’s pain experience.
From the dramatic ten to one pain reduction, to the less dramatic minor improvement, Sports RF radio frequency device is showing early clinical trial evidence of great outcomes in pain management. Clients love the feel of radio frequency when administered to painful regions of the body. They experience an initial analgesic effect, as well as accelerated healing of soft tissue and nerve conditions.
The eleven conditions listed above represent the cases I have had the opportunity to treat in my limited time of working with this modality. There are many other conditions which have yet to be explored for the relief of human suffering with this new exciting modality.
